Fire
mixed materials, variable dimensions - 2017
A room with a wall in flames. Although the fire burns incessantly, contrary to expectations it does not spread. What appeals to me about this work is its immateriality - volatility on the one hand and tremendous destructive potential on the other. Moreover, gaining control over fire also represents a crucial aspect of human evolution. Associations such as danger and escape arise, mingling with the hypnotically beautiful images of flames. This makes the work threatening, yet simultaneously attractive.
